Metro Aviation delivered a third completed EC135 for the Republic of South Korea today. This third aircraft, delivered ahead of schedule, will join the first two delivered earlier this month for an official viewing by the customer later next week.
Operational services of the first EC135 began September 1, 2011. With the delivery of the third aircraft, the Republic of South Korea will have the only three civilian-operated aircraft in service in the country.
“Metro Aviation is the only company able to meet all of our requirements in a very short time frame,” stated Charlie Park, General Manager of Korean Air. “The short time frame for completion is great.”
Park added, “This is the final contracted aircraft this year, but the Republic of South Korea plans to increase the Korean Air fleet size to 16.”
Each of the EC135 aircraft are equipped with Metro Aviation, Inc. standard EMS options, SPIFR, and air conditioning. Metro Aviation, Inc. will provide onsite reassembly assistance and a flight-check before the third aircraft enters service.
Metro Aviation, Inc. was established in 1982 as a helicopter charter, flight training, and maintenance operation facility. Since then, Metro Aviation, Inc. has grown substantially in size, and is internationally recognized for its excellence in helicopter transportation services. Today, Metro Aviation, Inc. is an FAA certified Airframe Modification, Maintenance, Inspection and Repair center, and is proud to offer traditional services to its valued customers.
