Children’s One Emergency Transport was founded in 1974 by neonatologist L. Joseph Butterfield, MD, who saw the need to bring the tiniest patients from around the region to the Children’s Colorado Newborn Center. Children’s One transportation vehicles are equipped with pediatric-specific technology, including high-frequency ventilators and nitric oxide therapy. This allows the team to provide lifesaving emergent care while transporting patients to a Children’s Colorado emergency department, children’s surgery center or critical care unit.
