Metro Aviation will be at the HAI HELI-EXPO in Anaheim on February 27-29 at Booth #2922. This year’s booth will feature an EC145C2e from Benefis Mercy Flight. The aircraft marks the first EMS aircraft in Metro’s fleet to be outfitted with the Axnes PNG Wireless Intercom Extension system, allowing flight crews to maintain continuous communication even when outside the aircraft. A long-time Metro operations customer, Montana-based Mercy Flight has been with Metro since 2000.
“We are thrilled to be returning to Heli-Expo in Anaheim, CA – the very city where we first attended,” said Vice President Todd Stanberry. “This is where my father first witnessed the industry-wide excitement surrounding what was a first back then: the helicopter air ambulance. It’s what started it all for us! That was nearly 40 years ago, and we have not missed a Heli-Expo since.”
With the addition of UVA Health Pegasus and Children’s Hospital Colorado this past year, Metro Aviation now operates 44 programs and more than 170 helicopters and airplanes in 27 states and the District of Columbia. Metro Aviation is the world’s largest air medical completion center and traditional air medical operator.
Stanberry added, “We are particularly excited this year as we have some really cool news to share. And we always enjoy hearing others’ big news, too. Thank you to Jim Viola and his team for always putting on a great show.” The Metro team will be available to discuss aircraft capabilities and services.
Metro will host its annual Press Event on February 28th at 10:30. Attendees are invited to the booth to hear about the exciting things happening at Metro Aviation. While at the booth, attendees can enjoy world-famous New Orleans-style King Cake and pick up some of Metro’s collectible Mardi Gras beads. Metro representatives will also attend the Mil2Civ Job Fair on February 26th and the HAI Career Fair on February 27th at the Anaheim Convention Center in Ballroom AB.
