According to The Washington Post, 77-percent of job seekers consider a company’s culture when applying, and employee retention is more challenging than ever. Lucky for Metro Aviation, they have several employees with 20 to 30 years at the company and new applications every day.
Director of HR Britney Ratcliff contributes much of Metro’s hiring success to culture. “Metro is focused on family, quality of life, and investing in our people,” she said. “We are an innovative company and that transfers to employee initiatives in the form of our employee assistance, tuition reimbursement, volunteer opportunities, ‘Metro University’ – our leadership development offering, and a host of other programs. We’re constantly looking for ways to take care of our people and help them live a fulfilled life.”
Metro Aviation is the world’s largest air medical completion center and traditional air medical operator. With more than 170 helicopters and airplanes in 27 states and the District of Columbia, the industry leader is searching for pilots and technicians to help support its air medical partners.
“One of the great things about Metro is the schedule,” said Ratcliff. “Our employees are home with their families and not spending days at a time in hotel rooms. They appreciate that quality of life aspect.”
