The Helicopter Flight Training Center will once again partner with the National Association of Air Medical Communication Specialists (NAACS) to host a Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) Course with an optional add-on in the CommLab.
The CFC Course is a 2-day class covering flight following and navigation, aviation weather, post accident incident plan, stress management, public relations and medical terminology. Upon successful completion of the CFC exam, participants will earn status as a NAACS Certified Flight Communicator.
Participants may choose to register for a third day to further their training in the CommLab. The communications center simulator provides hands-on scenarios for communicators learning or enhancing their skills. The CommLab is structured around the same software that participants use at their respective programs, and those staying for the CommLab portion will receive an additional certificate for the CommLab training.
The CFC course is scheduled for August 8-9, with the CommLab add-on scheduled for August 10. The CommLab will also host a standard CommLab course on August 8-9, simultaneous with the NAACS CFC course.
The CommLab is a joint effort between the Helicopter Flight Training Center and industry partners Flight Vector, Golden Hour, HSI, Xybix and Zoll. In addition to standard communication training, the CommLab assists programs in meeting the new FAA regulations for Operational Control Centers by helping communication specialists meet the growing needs of the OCC.
