The Helicopter Flight Training Center is pleased to announce that Glen Girard has joined the company as its Assistant Director of Training. Girard will be primarily responsible for instruction for ground and simulators, crew and air medical resource management, course development and records review.
The Helicopter Flight Training Center provides simulators for dry lease and Girard will assist customers in developing their training program, as well as train their instructors to operate the sim. The “train the trainer” program will prepare instructors to train for a variety of variables not easily replicated in an aircraft.
“Glen’s knowledge and expertise will be an asset to the pilot training available for both Metro Aviation and its customers as the Helicopter Flight Training Center continues to grow as an industry resource,” said Training Center Director Terry Palmer.
Boasting a strong military background and pilot’s license, Girard has spent most of his career training pilots in the military and civilian sector. He has more than 15,000 flight hours and comes to the training center from Bristow US where he served as the Flight Safety Manager.
Girard says he is looking forward to being part of a great team. “I see a lot of potential growth at the Helicopter Flight Training Center,” he says. “I am excited to get started on developing challenging curriculum to equip rotor wing pilots with the knowledge they need to fly safely.”
