Metro Aviation recently released an innovative smart phone app that has the potential to decrease response time by up to five minutes. When air transport is needed, hospitals and first responders can use Metro Alert to instantly notify one of Metro Aviation’s bases and send GPS coordinates using the helo alert function.

Metro Alert users will receive an estimated time of arrival and availability of the closest helicopter, as well as have access to a host of other functions such as tips for preparing the landing zone. The app was bought by Metro Aviation and given to their customers at no cost. “We want to provide our customers with the best tools out there to succeed,” said Todd Stanberry, Director of Business Integration for Metro Aviation. “The fact that we are decreasing response time by up to five minutes is amazing. This app is literally a lifesaver.”

Metro Aviation purchased the app and enlisted Cyber Technology Group (“CTG”), headed by Don Rucker to customize the app to fit the needs of Metro’s customers. Since the launch, Metro has hosted two webinars for clients to ensure they are getting the most out of this new technology.

Metro Alert is free and currently available in the app store for the iPhone and Android devices. Metro Alert may be utilized by any EMS partners within the service area of any Metro Aviation customers.
